When you're in love, there's a tug-and-pull: when you meet, there's chemistry and magic and beautiful insanity. And you want to move so fast. And you do. And then there is the realization: just to keep what you have requires a larger version of yourself. You struggle and rebel. And then you do the work.

After I wrote the original skeleton of this song, I asked Chuck to play some stuff from his classical piano days. He felt his way through the song a few times, and was brilliant. I originally played the bells, but then thought the rhythm sounded too hurky-jerky, even for a song about tug-and-pull. So Matthew stepped in and killed that shizzzz.
